- ¿Cómo te involucraste en la música?
Desde muy pequeña sentí el interés y amor por la música. Mi
tío el reconocido trovador Yucateco, Alfredo Gamboa “Pixan”
(EPD) me enseñó las bases teóricas de ella, y a partir de ahí
me fuí desenvolviendo en diferentes ramas del canto, tales
como la Ópera y el teatro musical. - ¿Cuál ha sido tu mayor desafío como artista?
Creo que el mayor desafío de todo artista es ser fiel a uno
mismo. Cuando uno va comenzando se encuentra con
obstaculos de todo tipo, y estos a veces pueden alterar
nuestra percepción de la realidad. Pienso que es importante
siempre mantener una mentalidad de disciplina y constancia,
respetar nuestros ideales y nuestros límites, así como
ser real y leal a nuestro arte. - ¿Cómo describirías tu estilo musical?
En este momento definiría mi estilo como “experimental”, una
mezcla de R&B con toques latinoamericanos y un tanto de
persuciones africanas.
Me gusta representar la cultura maya y la cultura del sureste
mexicano en géneros musicales donde usualmente no se suele
encontrar, y así conectar a los públicos jóvenes con una forma
diferente de mirar lo cotidiano de la vida popular y hacernos
sentir orgullosos de nuestra cultura y quienes somos, a través
de los sonidos y las letras. - Sabemos que recién estrenaste nuevo material, cuéntanos
al respecto
Así es, estoy estrenando mi segundo sencillo “Moments”
perteneciente a mi primer EP llamado “Homemade”. Cabe
destacar que este es un proyecto trilingüe (Español, Maya
Yucateca e Inglés)
Moments, es una canción que busca reflejar la nostalgia que
a veces provoca crecer y ver nuestra realidad cambiar. Ver
desaparecer aspectos del entorno que parecían ser tan
comunes como lo eran las tienditas de la esquina por ejemplo,
o a nuestros propios familiares que creíamos que iban a estar
aquí con nosotros para siempre.
“Moments” recolecta los pedazos de un pasado
maravillosamente eterno…
5.- ¿Disfrutas estar viajando y viviendo gracias a la música?
Compartenos tu top 3 de recomendaciones viajeras en el
sureste mexicano.
Gozo mucho de visitar lugares nuevos en la República
Mexicana y una de las cosas que más disfruto es conocer a
otras personas. La música también me ha dado la oportunidad
de conocer mejor mi propio estado y a mi comunidad.
Mi top tres de recomendaciones serían: Tahdziú en Yucatán,
Kalkiní en Campeche y Tihosuco en Quintana Roo.
Un dato random acerca de ti
Creo que un dato random de mi podría ser lo mucho que
disfruto el tiempo a solas y la paz me provoca escribir, todo el
tiempo estoy escribiendo, verdaderamente amo hacer música
todo el tiempo.

- How did you get involved in music?
From a very young age I felt the interest and love for music. My
uncle the renowned Yucatecan troubadour, Alfredo Gamboa “Pixan”
(EPD) taught me the theoretical bases of it, and from there
I developed in different branches of singing, such
such as the Opera and musical theatre. - What has been your biggest challenge as an artist?
I believe that the biggest challenge of every artist is to be faithful to one
same. When one is starting out, one finds
obstacles of all kinds, and these can sometimes alter
our perception of reality. I think it’s important
always maintain a mentality of discipline and perseverance,
respect our ideals and our limits, as well as
be real and loyal to our art. - How would you describe your musical style?
At this moment I would define my style as “experimental”, a
mix of R&B with Latin American touches and a bit of
African persecutions.
I like to represent the Mayan culture and the culture of the southeast
Mexican in musical genres where it is not usually
find, and thus connect young audiences with a way
different from looking at the everyday of popular life and making us
feel proud of our culture and who we are, through
of sounds and letters. - We know you just released new material, tell us
about
That’s right, I’m premiering my second single “Moments”
belonging to my first EP called “Homemade”. fits

Moments, is a song that seeks to reflect the nostalgia that
sometimes it causes us to grow and see our reality change. See
disappear aspects of the environment that seemed so
common as were the corner stores for example,
or to our own relatives who we thought were going to be
here with us forever.

5.- Do you enjoy traveling and living thanks to music?
Share your top 3 travel recommendations in the
Mexican southeast.
I really enjoy visiting new places in the Republic
Mexican and one of the things I enjoy the most is meeting
others. Music has also given me the opportunity
to get to know my own state and my community better.
My top three recommendations would be: Tahdziú in Yucatán,
Kalkiní in Campeche and Tihosuco in Quintana Roo.
A random fact about you
I think a random piece of information about me could be how much
I enjoy time alone and peace causes me to write, all the time
time I’m writing, I really love making music
all the time.
