Los amantes de la naturaleza y del mar tienen que conocer este hermoso recinto que se encuentra en Yucatán. Se trata de Arrecifes Alacranes, sus aguas de color turquesa y el sol brillante te deslumbrarán. Ubicado a las afueras de Progreso, está este Parque Nacional.
El Parque Nacional Arrecife Alacranes constituye un Área Natural Protegida de mucha importancia para México, pues conforma la estructura coralina más grande del Golfo de México, así como el único arrecife de Yucatán.
¿Cómo llegar al Arrecife Alacranes?
Para emprender una aventura hacia las islas vírgenes, necesitas primeramente llegar a Puerto Progreso, ya que la única forma de llegar es por vía marítima. Así que si vienes desde Mérida debes tomar la carretera hacia Progreso y tomar una embarcación. El viaje en barco dura aproximadamente 3 horas.
Hay una segunda opción desde Mérida: los vuelos panorámicos. Estos sobrevuelan el archipiélago para que lo admires desde la altura, así que si te encanta volar y eres amante de las experiencias únicas, quizá esta sea tu forma ideal para llegar a él. No obstante, el ingreso al ANP se debe hacer por embarcación acuática.
¿Qué hacer en Arrecife Alacranes?
Este destino es ideal para quienes aman estar en el agua o para quienes gustan admirar de los paisajes. Una vez que llegues al Parque Nacional puedes hacer distintas actividades como buceo recreativo, observación de flora y fauna, paseos en barco o lancha, incluso hacer esnórquel para ver los arrecifes.
De acuerdo con la Comisión Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas, entre la fauna que apreciarás se encuentra el pez león y las tortugar marinas, aunque estas durante mayo a octubre.
